31st March 2004 :: Aaaawooooooggggaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
BASECAMP THIS IS EAGLE-ONE. THAT'S IT. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE. I'M OFF TO PORTUGAL. PLEASE SAY FAREWELL TO THE MONKEY AND THE SNAKE FOR ME - THEY DO MISS ME TERRIBLY. 26th March 2004 :: It's Aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive!!!!!!!!
Hoorah - my Neural Network works again. Managed to repair it after reading through some articles about AI and realising that my learning rule was treating the weights between Hidden and Output layers as linear - like duuuuuh.

Yeah, so that's cool and has put me in a good mood.

Was pissed off the other day though coz I couldn't watch Arsenal vs. Chelsea on the telly (Sky only) or Radio (don't have MW, and it wasn't broadcastable via Webcast). Bloody rude if you ask me.

Aaaanyway, am pretty busy at the moment trying to piece my project together, and also getting ready for holiday to Portugal next Wednesday. Sun = good, work-ethic = bad :)

Might try and get some web-design done as well, you never know ...

19th March 2004 :: Home is Where the Good Food Is
Indigestion. Why?

Am currently at home for the weekend. Internet connection is slow as sh*t but there's good food here and I need to sort out clothes for holidays. Also it's pretty chilled. Most of the time. Hmm.

Watched a couple of films today - Starsky & Hutch at the cinema was pretty good, nothing to write home about (... nice ...) but enjoyable enough since there's nothing better out.

Also saw Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon on DVD which is truly excellent. I never thought I'd say this, but ... the martial arts / fights sequences put The Matrix to shame. A good one to own, only let down by the fact that you actually have to watch the screen all the time coz of the subtitles.

Am planning on adding a movie review / rating system to my Media Site. Soon, he says, forgetting momentarily that he has a project to do ... I have done no work. Perhaps this is why my mood has shifted from Dark to Chilled :)

I need to do a Smiley script for this thing I think - looks better when you put them in properly.

Here endeth the lesson.

17th March 2004 :: Who's Da Moody Bitch
Bleurgh. Spent the last couple of days trying to program my neural network to take more than one output. Should be simple but IT'S NOT F***ING LEARNING AND IT'S REALLY STARTING TO PISS ME OFF. Have been stuck on this for weeks now.

Am wondering whether I should just say "Sod Java, I'm using Matlab" and take away the hassle. Unfortunately I find myself with a certain amount of pride in that I want to get my own one to work. Typical.

In other news, been watching Joan of Arcadia. Awesome show, thoroughly recommend it. I like Adam, he's funny, and the girl is cute (looks a bit like Buffy used to in Season 1, but a brunette). 24 is also good at the minute if you don't like that kind of thing :)

Right, I have a book from the British Library that I'm supposed to get through because it's "Heavily Requested", which they felt the need to tell me on a huge bright pink slip over the cover, which was mildly embarrassing on the walk home ...

10th March 2004 :: Who do you think you are looking at??
Yes, I know I should be working, but I'm not, okay?

My tankard got ordered today, for being the JCR IT Officer for 2 and a half years. Hmm, think I probably earnt it ... it will sit behind the college bar forever more, unless I decide to take it with me :)

Am currently ripping DVDs ... tra la la ... my collection is growing. Check out SQUiNKY to see what I've got.

Watched Swordfish the other day. Good movie.

Also watched Kill Bill, which was alright. Very stylised, but couldn't make up for lack of plot (yes I know that wasn't the point, but I LIKE plot driven movies, ok??). Reminded me of anime (and not just because part of it was in Japan, and part was animated - look I'm not a moron ok?? - slaps you in the face with your mousemat).

Yeah, nothing else is happening here. It's really boring. WHERE IS EVERYBODY???

Keep meaning to write a website in Flash, now I know how to use it properly. Been too busy doing shitty ones for college though - go to www.altseh.co.uk and www.bohemianball.co.uk if you're curious. They're not my finest work (although AltSEH ain't too bad now) but I was in a hurry and I have work to do.

Speaking of, I really should do some. Or I could just rip another DVD ... ;)
